Frequently Asked Questions

Capabilities & Technical

1. What materials do you work with?
We work with a wide range of thermoplastics including ABS, polypropylene, nylon, polycarbonate, acetal (POM), and filled or reinforced compounds. We also support food-safe, flame-retardant, and recycled materials on request.

2. What is your maximum moulding capacity (tonnage)?
Our machines range from 25 tonnes up to 650 tonnes of clamping force, allowing us to produce components from just a few grams up to over 2 kg. We’re actively expanding our capabilities for larger parts.

3. Do you provide tooling design and manufacture?
Yes. We offer a complete tooling service from design for manufacture (DFM) support to toolmaking, validation, and ongoing maintenance. We also work with trusted UK and overseas toolmakers to meet specific lead time or cost requirements.

4. What tolerances can you achieve?
Typical tolerances are within ±0.1 mm, though we can achieve tighter specifications depending on material, tool design, and part geometry. We review tolerances with clients at the design stage to ensure feasibility.

5. Can you handle small or prototype runs as well as volume production?
Yes. We regularly produce prototype and pre-production batches alongside high-volume runs. We’re happy to support development projects and scale with your needs.

Ordering, Lead Time & Logistics

6. What is your typical lead time for new production?
For new tooling projects, lead times typically range from 4–10 weeks depending on complexity. For repeat production, standard lead times are 1–3 weeks, with rapid turnaround possible for priority orders.

7. Can you hold stock or offer call-off supply agreements?
Yes. We offer kanban and call-off stocking agreements and can hold several months of stock on-site to support just-in-time delivery. This allows our clients to reduce warehousing and planning overheads.

8. Do you offer shipping or delivery support for international clients?
We can deliver both within the UK and internationally. Our logistics team works with trusted freight partners and can support DAP and DDP shipments as needed.

9. What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
We don’t enforce a fixed MOQ. For new projects, we work with clients to find the right balance of tool cost recovery and batch efficiency. We support both short runs and long-term scheduled orders.

Quality & Compliance

10. What quality standards or certifications do you hold?
We operate to ISO 9001 quality standards and maintain full batch traceability. We also meet customer-specific requirements in medical, automotive and industrial sectors.

11. How do you ensure part consistency and traceability?
Our ERP system ensures full traceability of materials, tooling, and production parameters. We use in-process checks, first-article inspection, and statistical process control where required.

12. Can you provide REACH, RoHS, or other regulatory documentation?
Yes. We can provide full compliance documentation on request, including REACH, RoHS, and food contact declarations. Our materials are sourced from reputable, compliant suppliers.

Sustainability & ESG

13. Do you use recycled materials or offer low-carbon production options?
We support the use of recycled and regrind materials where suitable and can advise on low-carbon material alternatives. We’re also able to segregate recycled content for clients needing evidence of circular material use.

14. What are you doing to reduce your environmental footprint?
We are actively investing in sustainable operations, including:

  • Solar power installation across our buildings
  • Energy-efficient machinery and voltage optimisation
  • Scrap reduction programs and waste segregation These measures reduce Scope 2 emissions and improve long-term efficiency.

Customer Service & Support

15. Can I visit your facility or arrange a project consultation?
Absolutely. We welcome site visits and technical consultations. Whether you’re exploring a new project or evaluating a supplier, our team will be happy to host you at our Bolton facility and walk through your requirements.
