Product Design and Development
Whether you’re starting with a simple sketch, a prototype, or a fully formed CAD model, our team is here to support you in turning your idea into a manufacturable, high-quality product. We provide CNC prototyping for investigation into design refinement, supported by 3D printed (SLA) testing and refining design to production intent.
We work closely with clients to review and refine designs, ensuring they are optimised for injection moulding — saving time, reducing waste, and improving cost-efficiency. From material selection and wall thickness analysis to draft angles and undercut avoidance, we take every detail into account to ensure your part is both functional and production-ready.
For clients in the early stages, we offer design assistance to help bring your concept to life. For more established products, we can advise on modifications that improve performance, durability, or manufacturability. We also offer prototyping options, allowing you to test and validate your design before committing to full-scale tooling.

Manufacturing and Production
With over 47 years of injection moulding expertise, we provide reliable, scalable manufacturing that meets the demands of both high- and low-volume production. Whether you need a short run of prototypes or full-scale production with ongoing supply, our facility is equipped to deliver with precision and consistency.
Our injection moulding presses range from 25 to 350 tonnes, allowing us to produce a wide variety of components — from small, intricate parts to larger, more robust mouldings. We use modern machinery and proven processes to ensure every part is made to exacting standards. In addition to our UK tool making team, we offer far east tool making that meets the same ISO:9001:2015 quality and is fully supported and warrantied by our UK team.
Total Productive Maintenance in manufacturing is a systematic approach to maximize the effectiveness of production equipment and processes. It involves a team-based system that focuses on proactive and preventive techniques to increase equipment reliability and overall productivity.. Our ISO-certified quality system also provides full traceability, with inspection records logged at key stages, including final dispatch.
We offer warehousing and call-off stock solutions to support your supply chain, allowing you to receive parts exactly when needed. And with Kanban systems in place, we integrate seamlessly into your operations — becoming a dependable partner that keeps your production lines moving.

Quality Assurance and Control
At SGH, quality isn’t an afterthought — it’s built into every stage of our process. From initial tooling setup to final dispatch, we follow strict quality control procedures to ensure every part meets specification, every time.
Our ISO-certified quality management system provides full traceability throughout production. All components are subject to documented inspections, with records maintained at key checkpoints — including in-process checks, final inspection, and pre-dispatch approval. This gives our clients complete confidence in the consistency, performance, and reliability of every part we produce.
We also take a proactive approach to quality through Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM). By maintaining comprehensive tool records and scheduling regular servicing, we reduce the risk of defects, minimise downtime, and extend tool life.
For clients with specific quality requirements — such as first-off samples, FAIR documentation, or PPAP submissions — we work closely to ensure all standards are met. Our team is always on hand to support audits, provide technical data, and make continuous improvements where needed.
